Our riders, sun shines on the bikeathon, trials rider on the Avanti Team Bike

Well the sun is well and truely alive and well!! It has been spotted in the valley!

Mikes Bikes have set aside a modest budget to support young local bikers, for this year we welcome Hamish Hepburn (Trials & Jump) from Carrbridge, and Megan Riach (Track & Road) from Nethy. They will keep us up to date with their progress over the coming year:

Hamish Hepburn is riding a Diamondback Tekiya (26" trials bike) & a Raleigh single speed DJ 26 in fetching purple!

Megan Riach rides a Merida Juliet (female specific road bike), and a Dolan track bike, as well as a Raleigh M-Trax freeride MTB, with carbon seatstays.

Both will add to our blog over the summer months and appear on our picture gallery.

Last weekend saw the ever popular Bikeathon, organised by the Murchies crew in Kingussie, blessed with increased numbers and wonderful weather, & of course excellent AA coverage from Mikes Bikes. Mike reported broken chains, soft tyres and cobwebs as the major bike issues! Many people opted to ride road bikes this year including our own Jenny, and Gordon Howe, who rode his 1st racer in 20 years. Fundraising appears to be higher than useal, but will not be confirmed for a few weeks yet.

Well done to all, for a great effort.
