Merida Ninety-six 3000D, Merida Transmission3000D, Diamondback Response Sport, Raleigh Avanti Team, Clarks Grips, SLX components free fitting!!!, Merida Trail bikes. Well the weather is proving very unpredictable, this blog is spending 50% of its riding time between Mountain Biking and Road Riding, as someone with a lifelong issue with mudguards the wet is very unappealing. The solution is simple ride a mountain bike in heavily wooded areas (no wind, less rain and warmer). The shop are currently testing a Merida Ninety-six 3000D, full suss race bike, it has proven to be awesome, with full lockout, DT swiss shock, Rockshox SIDs & carbon stays it is mega quick on the ascents, and supple on the downs with the added bonus of a light weight!Speaking of supple Jenny is currently using a Merida Transmission 3000D, with a fill FOX set up and XT transmission, this bike is a bargain at £2500, providing the rider with technology normally found on much more expensive bikes. On a recent trip to Laggan we took a hire bike (Diamondback Response Sport £699.99), and all had a go of this light hardtail, it easily coped with both reds, providing proof that you do not have to spend a huge amount to have fun. On the Road front Mikes Raleigh Team Bike (£3499.99), was reviewed by Cycling plus a against a £7500 Trek! It received many plaudits and 8/10 vs 10/10 for the mega expensive TREK. Cycling+ commented that "Raleigh was back, big-time. With very serious race bikes, both the Raleigh Avanti Team, & Raleigh Avanti Race are featured as top 3 Superbike (£2500+), & top3 bike (£1500 to £2500). Mike will now have to ride faster!!! Free Fitting, as an experiment Mikes Bikes will provide free fitting on any Shimano SLX/XT/XTR components (except cables!) purchased within the shop, the reason: we are frequently asked to compete on price with online retailers (CRC, Wiggle etc), we cannot do this, we need to eat! What we can do is offer good service which in this case offers free fitting should you upgrade your components, the internet retailers cannot do that! Of late our top selling bike has been the Dawes XC 1.6, of which we have a limited number left, RRP £479.99, we are offering this at £399.99!!! With the new Clarks Hydraulic Brakes, 36 spoke wheels, SRAM Truvativ Cranks and Shimano 24 Speed this is an unbelieviable bargain, it also looks stunning, come in a check it out.
