Raleigh Aura, EVO carbon, Shoes and pedals special offer, one-off flat bar bargain, hand built wheels, M-Trax 2010, Easton, Fizik, demo bikes, Corratec 2010 range, Buffs, Uvex, win a Diamondback, uphill ski club, bike shaped object - the ski-bike!

... and the blogger emerges sleepy eyed after his period of hibernation to witness the wonderful cycle of nature.

Well, it might have taken a little longer this year but the first signs of spring have brought out the bikers and the demand for turbo trainers has been replaced by the service book filling up. Mikes Bikes has many new offerings for 2010 - far too many to describe here - but amongst our favourites is the female specific Raleigh Aura road bike. The team at Mikes Bikes had specific design input into the development of this bike, with Mike contributing to the "tech spec" and Jenny's advice on the colour scheme combining to produce a stunning package. With an EVO carbon fork and weighing only 8.5kg it has proved one temptation too many for Jenny and she will be taking delivery of an Aura to make her drop bar, SPD pedal debut in 2010. What this means, of course, is that if you are vertically challenged (or petite as Jenny likes to call it) there is a fantastic bargain to be had on her flat-barred road bike from last season, a much up-specced model that includes in its bling package a set of custom wheels hand built by Mike.

Following their successful re-introduction last year Mikes Bikes have the 2010 M-Trax range in stock for this season. This range was a revelation last year and demand out stripped supply for Raleigh's flagship mountain bike model. We have a couple of demo bikes available for prospective customers but don't go out on one unless you're serious - you won't want to go back to your old bike! Also in for 2010 is a comprehensive range of Corratec bikes covering trail, road and female specific models, an extended range of Uvex glasses and Helmets, Buffs in junior, male and female specific sizes and designs, Easton Products, new male and female Shimano Shoes and ... so much more - you have to call in to see for yourself!!

If we can't persuade you to buy a new bike for 2010 perhaps you'd be interested in winning one? Pop into the Skiing Doo or the Doo Below and buy some tickets for the raffle raising funds for the Uphill Ski Club to win a customised Diamondback Mojito 29er.

And finally, after much research we have eventually arrived at a use for a super market bike (aka a bike shaped object). If you put your mind to it, not even a winter like we have just had can prevent a dedicated cyclist having some fun!
