How many Downhillers do you need to take a photograph??????????

That’s easy, five! And Sally still had to show them which button to push! As Mikes Bikes were representing one of the Main Sponsors Dare 2b (thanks for the opportunity and to Robert and his team), we took full advantage and met as many of the superstars as possible. Sally posed with Josh Bryceland (V. Famous, and very friendly), as 4-5 of his competitors tried to take the picture!

Callum got in on the act, as Dare 2b introduced him to their trials team, and allowed him ride (This is in the broadest sense of riding!!), with them for half an hour. They were awesome, and again very friendly!

Sally, Bruce and their fan club visited the Madison /Saracen /SRAM /Specialized pits and were impressed with the fantastic mechanics and the cleanliness of their workshops!! Many thanks to all the teams.

Diamondback provided a fleet of the frankly amazing Assault 2 jump bikes, for riders to jump/stunt/fall on the Dare 2b airbag. It has to said some “riders” could show Mr Bean a thing or two with regard to unplanned comedy!

For more exciting feedback see Facebook, Flicker etc………….

Oh and Mike cycled home under grey skies and seeping drizzle, with an average speed of 21.5mph, into a headwind, dodging masses of frankly horrendous driving from the World Cup attendees. Thanks to Malcolm Smith for giving me loads of room (you were one of the few/only).

And finally thanks to all our Mikes Bikes Volunteers (& the helpful Rare Mgt Crew and all their volunteers)

The Steer family (in particular Andrew, who yet again had “the worst day of his life!”)

The Smiths, especially Bruce who modelled a Kenda poncho all day, and stared at DH stars/bikes. No you Dad is not buying you a Saracen Myst!

     Dougie for posing in sunglasses

Ian (bedman)for general grumpiness and for wearing his 1983 Zambezi shorts. In addition he did a great fall whilst spectating in full view of the entire audience.

    Anthony from Raleigh / Diamondback.

The guys from Dare 2b, good luck with your Paris cycle!

James Taylor (no not the same guy!)

And finally Jenny for organising everything
