    Cairngorm Cycling Club (CCC)

The club has got off to a good start this season with great weather in April and a healthy number of the club have been going out on the Thursday & Tuesday night rides, good to see a number of new and young faces amongst the group. There has also been a few appearances by olympic athlete Noel Baxter. There are some informal events planned over the season the first was a few weeks ago, the club 10mile TT - Mike and I competed on a mountain bike tandem - first time we had been on a tandem together since Millport 20 years ago - so you can imagine the abuse that was getting shouted at me, Mike was determined we would overtake someone (which we did) but under no circumstances was anyone overtaking us (which they didn't)!!!!! The next informal event is the 2nd June - Shop to the Top Hill Climb, the 2010 winner was Callum Irvine 39.01 mins - do you fancy giving it a go?

What have the team @ Mikes Bikes been up to?

Sally and I have been out testing some new ladies road bikes over the last couple of weeks, I was on the Forme Finesse and Sally on the Merida Juliet Road 94 - great time, great bikes - shame about the weatherFrown -  we had to dress for winter on all occassions....Mike has been putting his Merida 96er to test and managed the Burma road in one hour 40 minutes (a PB, 28 minutes for the climb)....Call has been out making videos - check out http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/profile.php?id=100001120907540... Dougie went out with CCC last week but was on the pain killers the next day - probably the club sprints that did it - I have heard they are very competitive (Yell) Megan is still competing in a number of track events and Hamish is still out and about on his jump/trials bikes - we know as we keep having to repair it.

    Developments

Working with Rock & Run,  we have now launched a 'Mikes Bikes' personalised saddle bag retailing at £14.50 - the bags are all made in Aviemore. The bags hold - a mini pump, spare tube, tyre levers, mobile phone, keys, energy bar & money. We are all selling their 'extremely light' bum bags (male and female) and currently working together to develop other new products.

    Special Offers

There are a number of bikes on offer see our special offers page.

Anyway, hope to see a few of you at the shop to the top hill climb, Jenny
